River Forest “Bras for a Cause” Event Was a Success

RFMC Event

On Saturday, May 6, the River Forest Breast Center, in partnership with a local Breast Cancer Support organization, “Pink Divas and Gents”, hosted “Bras for a Cause”.

This event welcomed 42 women in the community to celebrate Breast Cancer Survivorship, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide support and encouragement to those facing a breast cancer diagnosis.

Dr Rabia Bhatti, Breast Surgeon and Breast Center Medical Director, provided community education with her engaging lecture, “From Surviving to Thriving: The Breast Cancer Survivors Journey Toward Wellness”.  The group laughed and supported each other while practicing exercises with Dr. Bhatti and discussing other ways to thrive as a survivor.

Cancer Center nurse navigator, Cindy Rubic; Breast Center nurse navigator, Megan Moroney; and Breast Center lead ultrasound technologist, Lori Terry were recognized for their compassionate care during the event!

A signature “mocktail” was offered, along with lunch and treats. Finally, the women participated in a bra decorating contest! Prizes were awarded to the top 3 most creative bra decorators! A great time was had by all.

Thanks “Pink Divas and Gents” and the staff at the River Forest Breast Center for your support of our survivors!
