COVID-19 Update

Notice About Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Appointments, screenings, procedures, and surgeries are now being scheduled at West Suburban Medical Center.

At West Suburban Medical Center, we’ve put every precaution in place to keep our patients and staff safe. If you’ve been putting off your regular checkups or need to schedule a procedure or surgery, please be assured that now is the right time to reach out and take the steps you need to reclaim your health. It is vital that you seek treatment for chronic conditions and acute medical concerns. We’re here for you.

Steps We’re Taking to Maximize Safety:

  • All doctors, nurses, and clinicians are wearing masks and are screened for symptoms at the beginning and end of all shifts.
  • We are rigorously cleaning and sanitizing patient exam rooms between every patient.
  • Our operating rooms and equipment are sterilized with cleaning products approved for use against COVID-19.
  • We are spacing out our patient appointment times and limiting the number of persons in our clinics. Chairs are placed 6 feet apart in our lobby and patient escorts are only allowed if absolutely necessary.
  • Waiting areas have been modified and plexiglass has been installed as an additional barrier to separate staff from patients checking into clinics.
  • You will be pre-screened for symptoms by phone a day before your appointment. When you arrive for your appointment you will be screened once again and have your temperature checked.
  • All patients (and necessary support persons) must wear face masks and follow social distancing guidelines of at least 6 feet from others in common areas.

Patients and Visitors:

Your health and well-being is our priority. All infection control policies and procedures have been and will continue to be active throughout the lifespan of the COVID-19 and influenza season.

We have implemented several policies and procedures to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) health risk within our hospital. We ask for your patience as we continue to implement these policies over the coming weeks and as the situation may evolve.

What we are doing:

  • Restricting all visitors except patient support individuals. Read our visitor
    restrictions notification.
  • Screening patients, support persons and employees for signs of virus and masking as needed.
  • Restricting access to those with signs of virus and/or those that have traveled to high risk areas in our country and outside of the United States.
  • Masking patients with signs of virus and implementing isolation and Covid-19 testing.
  • Enhancing hospital sanitation efforts by increasing the number of thorough cleanings.
  • Ensuring hand sanitizer is readily available throughout the hospital.
  • Closely monitoring hospital supplies and emergency equipment to ensure adequate coverage of patient needs.
  • Closely monitoring the advice and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • Educating our employees on preventative measures provided by the CDC. We will be monitoring this situation very closely with the major health organizations and local experts and will provide updates as needed.
