Stay Active and Healthy with Our Senior Program

At West Suburban Medical Center, we understand the unique needs of older adults. That’s why we developed the West Suburban Senior Program, to help you maintain an independent and healthy life.

This free wellness program for adults ages 60+ offers educational, social, and wellness programs to aid in this goal. Stop by our Senior Resource Desk (located in the main lobby of the hospital) for more information.

Education Programs

Free education programs are offered each month about issues important to you, such as Medicare, insurance, retirement, and health-related topics.

Exercise

Exercise is an important part of keeping healthy. That is why we offer free exercise classes, including Building Balance Exercise, Fit for the Fight Exercise, Tai Chi, and Lunchtime Yoga.

Support Groups

Monthly support groups help build resources and support as you deal with the curve balls that life throws you.

Free Screenings

The program offers free periodic screenings to help determine your risk factors for such health issues as:

  • High blood pressure
  • Elevated cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Colon cancer

As a member, you’ll receive regular notification of these programs and have access to health care professionals, like nurses, dietitians, and audiologists to help guide you in maintaining your health.

West Suburban Medical Center offers wheelchair-accessible transportation for patients within designated boundaries who have no other means of transportation to West Suburban and our satellite location for tests, treatments, and office appointments.
