Screenings & Procedures

At West Suburban Medical Center, our respiratory specialists create a treatment plan that is personalized around your specific condition. Common treatments and procedures used in treating respiratory conditions include:

Endobronchial Ultrasound Bronchoscopy

Endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy (EBUS) is a procedure in which an ultrasound bronchoscopy tube is inserted through the mouth or nose into the lungs to obtain images.

Lung Cancer Screening

Although many helpful questionnaires and other tests are available, the only recommended screening test for lung cancer is the low-dose computed tomography (CT), in which the lungs are scanned for cancer-related changes.

Pulmonary Function Testing

Pulmonary function testing involves assessing the volume, capacity, flow rate and gas exchange of the lungs. They provide a portrait of lung function and can help diagnose some lung disorders.
