Frederick M. Tiesenga, M.D. is the Medical Director of The Chicago Center for Bariatric Surgery & Medical Weight Loss and President of New Hope Surgical Weight Loss Center, S.C. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and performed his residency clinical training at Metropolitan Group Hospitals in Chicago. Fellowship-trained in laparoscopic gastric bypass, Dr. Tiesenga is an affiliate surgeon of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons and a Covidien Proctor for Bariatric Surgery.
Juaquito (Jay) Jorge, M.D. – Dr. Jay Jorge is a board-certified general surgeon and fellowship-trained minimally invasive and bariatric surgeon. He has accomplished a versatile and solid career history employing medical expertise within hospital and clinical settings. His particular aptitude is in bariatric, robotic, minimally invasive, and general surgery as well as advanced endoscopy specializations.
Jasmine Kapoor, MPH, RD, LDN – Jasmine is the Bariatric Program Coordinator for The Chicago Center for Bariatric Surgery & Medical Weight Loss. Jasmine is a registered and licensed dietitian with a master’s degree in Public Health. As the Program Coordinator, Jasmine helps ensure patients have access to all the information and resources necessary for success in the program. She is available to guide patients through each step of the pre-surgical and post-surgical process and can help clarify any questions or concerns. She can be reached by calling 708-763-6398.
Advanced Practice Nurse, Christina I. Crews, NP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She graduated cum laude at West Suburban College of Nursing and received her master’s degree from North Park University. As the program’s Advance Practice Nurse, Christina helps patients throughout the journey to living lighter. Christina provides pre- and post-surgical education, helps patients understand the various surgical techniques and aides in surgery, recovery and post-operative management.
Registered Dietitian, Sherri Brennan, R.D., L.D.N., provides patients with the nutrition and exercise tools to assist them in managing their diet and identifying food triggers to remain successful in their journey to a NEWU. In addition, she assists patients with pre-op.
