Barbara Martin, BSN, MBA, FACHE
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Ms. Martin’s extensive experience includes roles as a system chief executive officer, chief operations officer, vice president for hospital operations and ambulatory services, chief nurse executive, health system vice president, and physician practice executive. She has strategically led both not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals through various growth and transformational efforts including refining service lines, streamlining operations, and improving financial performance. Ms. Martin also has a strong nursing and clinical background which further enhances the value she brings to West Suburban Medical Center.
Prior to joining West Suburban Medical Center, Ms. Martin was the President and CEO of Vista Health System for 14 years as well as the President of BJDM Healthcare Consulting where she led a variety of specialty initiatives to facilitate strong operations and leadership development. She also held leadership positions at Provena Health, St. Margaret and Mercy Health Centers, and Ingalls Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Martin has served on the board of directors for the Illinois Health and Hospital Association and is the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions, including being named in Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the Top CEOs in Healthcare and as one of the Top Female Healthcare CEOs in the Country. Barb earned an Alumni Achievement Award from her alma mater, Lewis University, and has received multiple other awards for community outreach, healthcare administration, and nursing leadership.
David Ross
INTERIM CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
David is a healthcare consultant who specializes in healthcare finance and operations, as well as strategy development, design and implementation. He spent more than 20 years with Tenet Healthcare, which operates more than 65 hospitals across the United States.
Through February 2019, he oversaw all aspects of finance and operations as Tenet Health’s Group Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for the Michigan and Illinois operations, which included 10 hospitals in metro Detroit and Chicago. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Operations for Tenet’s 70 hospitals and as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for the 22 Western Region hospitals.
David earned an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Tampa. He is a certified public accountant and a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Vennie Christoff, MBA, LCPC, CJCP, CHCQM
CHIEF QUALITY OFFICER
Ms. Christoff brings over 12 years of experience in leading clinical outcomes improvement in a variety of settings and her extensive experience includes roles as a chief executive officer, chief operating officer and chief compliance officer. She has helped both not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals achieve top rankings on quality outcomes and disease specific accreditations. Ms. Christoff is focused on delivering exceptional healthcare for individuals and populations as the chief quality officer.
Prior to joining West Suburban Medical Center, Ms. Christoff was the CEO of NeuroBehavioral Hospital and Lake Behavioral Hospital as well as the President of CPC Healthcare Consulting. She also held leadership positions at Chicago Behavioral Hospital, Garfield Park Hospital and Neuropsychiatric Services in Chicago.
Ms. Christoff has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Adler University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare from Lewis University. She is also Board Certified in Quality Assurance and Physician Advising and is Certified Joint Commission Professional.
