Sherwin Ho, M.D., is an expert in sports medicine, specializing in minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle. He has served as faculty at numerous courses for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Ho is the current president of the Illinois Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and an official spokesman for the AAOS. He also served six years on the AAOS' Board of Councilors.
Dr. Ho has authored numerous medical articles and reference publications. He has served as editor-in-chief of sports medicine for the online publication, eMedicine now a part of WebMD/Medscape, and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is founder and chairman of the highly regarded University of Chicago Primary Care Orthopedics Course, now in its 17th year.
He also has moderated industry conferences on a range of orthopedic topics and has been a visiting professor at many institutions world-wide, including the University of Hawaii, and the 306 and 309 Hospitals of the Peoples Liberation Army in Beijing, China.
He is a member of Herodicus Society—an elite society of the world's leading sports medicine physicians. Additionally, he has been recognized as a five-time and current "Top Doctor" by Castle and Connolly, Men's Health magazine, Women's Health magazine, and Chicago magazine. Additionally, Dr. Ho serves as head team physician for Concordia University, the University of Chicago and the U.S. Women's Volleyball Team. He is also an orthopedic consultant for the China Women's Volleyball Team, and former team physician and orthopedic consultant for the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Team.
