Medical Imaging

Seeing is knowing

Today’s medical imaging technologies have made a significant impact on the diagnosis of disease and the assessment of a patient’s response to treatment. Equipment and software enable physicians to treat patients more effectively and with greater precision.

At Vanguard West Suburban Medical Center, medical imaging has gone beyond the traditional X-ray to systems that provide a picture-perfect, full-color view inside the human body. Our nuclear heart scan, for example, allows physicians to see the beating heart and measure the heart’s ability to pump blood.

Our advanced Medical Imaging Services capabilities include:

  • Bone densitometry
  • Computerized tomography (CT)
  • Open and closed magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Uterine fibroid embolization
  • Radiofrequency ablation therapy
  • Vertebroplasty
  • Stereotactic breast biopsy
  • MammoSite
  • Other procedures
