Knowledgeable Staff

The Breast Center employs a team of highly-trained specialists. Our team is made up of radiologists, pathologists, surgeons, oncologists, primary care physicians, mammography technologists, physical therapists, nurses and a nurse navigator. Our dedicated Breast Center radiologists specialize in interpreting mammograms, which assists in obtaining accurate results and quality care.

Nurse Navigator

Our Clinical Nurse Coordinator serves as the link between the patient and the physician team, and is available to answer questions, provide resources, speak with family members and consult with patients one-on-one. Free of charge, she helps our patients “navigate” a complex healthcare system of treatments, tests, appointments, and supportive services. She coordinates patient care to ensure the timely scheduling of appointments and educates patients and their caregivers about each treatment modality and helps to answer questions regarding the timing and coordination of each approach. She is a patient advocate who promotes patient empowerment and includes patients in the decisions throughout the treatment planning process. In what can be an overwhelming process, she is there to support patients.

Multidisciplinary Breast Clinic

The multi-disciplinary breast clinic at the Breast Center provides newly diagnosed breast cancer patients with a convenient setting where evidence-based treatment recommendations and clinical trial options are discussed by a team of dedicated cancer experts. This new multidisciplinary approach to cancer care means a breast surgeon, breast medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and plastic surgeon will review each new patient’s entire case history together and make recommendations based on evidence-based standards of care. By meeting together as a team, treatment plans are delivered to the patient so they can make decisions in a timely manner, begin treatment quickly and know that every member of her health care team is working together to return her to good health.
