Accreditation

The Breast Center is accredited for mammography by the American College of Radiology (ACR) [link to www.acr.org]. The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. The ACR is a national organization serving more than 32,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.

Our ability to diagnose breast cancer in its earliest stages is unmatched in the area and surpasses the national average. It's just one of the many reasons why the Breast Center was awarded Center of Excellence status by the ACR. This designation is awarded to centers who achieve accreditation by the ACR in stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided breast biopsy and mammography.
