Accreditations

Dedicated to providing quality care, West Suburban has achieved accreditation and recognition for a wide range of programs — meeting the highest levels of health care standards.

• West Suburban Medical Center is a Primary Stroke Center certified by The Joint Commission for using stroke care protocols that have been proven as efficient and high quality.
• The West Suburban Center for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery program was fully accredited by the Bariatric Surgery Center Network (BSCN) Accreditation Program of the American College of Surgeons. It is one of only three BSCN-accredited facilities in the Chicagoland area to be recognized as a "Center of Excellence." This designation means the program has met essential criteria that ensures it is fully capable of supporting a bariatric surgery care program.
• The Inpatient Oncology Program and the Center for Cancer Care were awarded accreditation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. As one of 1,400 approved cancer programs in the U.S., West Suburban Medical Center's Inpatient Oncology Program and the Center for Cancer Care were recognized as offering the very best in cancer care.
• The Family Practice Residency Program received formal approval from the American Osteopathic Association as an accredited residency program for applicants interested in obtaining a doctor of osteopathy license.
• The main laboratory and the medical oncology laboratory received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists.
• West Suburban Medical Center was fully accredited by the Health Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP).
• West Suburban Medical Center's Midwifery Services is one of the largest in the area. Certified Nurse-Midwives are master's prepared and accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
• West Suburban Medical Center's Center for Breast Care in River Forest was awarded a three-year accreditation in mammography by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
